ALPINE
STRING
QUARTET

...EXPERIENCE THE SUMMIT

How can I hire your group to play for my event?
Please contact us at info@alpinestringquartet.com to check on date availability. Once the
date is set,
we will send you all the necessary paperwork and get the planning process rolling.

How will your quartet fit into our ceremony?
The quartet will provide music before, during, and after your ceremony. Prelude music is
usually 20 minutes in length as guests are arriving. During the wedding ceremony, we
can play musical selections
of your choice while the families of the bride and groom are seated, as bridesmaids process
down the aisle, and as the bride processes. Other ceremonial music might include a piece
during the lighting of a unity candle, or interlude music special to the bride and groom.
We will play music as the bridal party
exits, and then postlude music following the ceremony as your guests depart.

I am not sure of what music I would like for my wedding? Can you help me choose?
Absolutely. We will be happy to provide you with a CD of our music, which contains
selections appropriate for each portion of the wedding event. Music is also available on
our website: www.alpinestringquartet.com. You can listen and choose what you like.

Do you play music that is not on your “Repertoire” list?
Yes. We ask that you make your request for special music at least one month in advance of
your event date so that we can acquire, arrange, and rehearse your selection. There is an
additional fee for this service.

Can you play with a singer who is a friend of the bride and groom?
Yes. We would need to have the music from the soloist a month in advance in order to
make sure it is compatible for string quartet, and to make any adjustments if necessary.
We would then ask that the soloist meet us at the ceremony site 15 – 20 minutes ahead of
the start of the prelude music to rehearse with the quartet. There is an additional fee for
any special music arranging.

Is it possible for me to come and hear your group?
Of course! We are a regularly rehearsing group, and we would be happy to have you come
to one of our rehearsals.

What if I would like to have additional instrumentalists perform at my wedding?
Not a problem. We have several excellent musicians that we invite to play with us as
special guests. These include flutists, trumpet players, vocalists, to name a few. If you
have something in mind, don’t hesitate to ask, and we will be happy to accommodate you.

Can you play at an outdoor event?
Yes we can, but we must make a few important requests:
  • Due to the fragile nature of our instruments, we need to have some sort of
protection from direct sunlight, be it a small tent (minimum: 10’ by 10’) or shade
    from tree coverage.
  • Our instruments cannot tolerate extremes in temperature (<60 or >95 degrees) or rain
precipitation. If these conditions occur, we will need to relocate indoors.
  • Sound quality outdoors can vary. We do not own a P/A sound system. If this is
something you require, you will need to provide it.

Will your quartet perform outside of the metropolitan area?
Yes. We will gladly travel up to 30 miles from downtown Minneapolis for no extra charge.
An additional fee is required for events beyond 30 miles.
